Conversations with my Violent Side: the poetry of Norman Alexander Alkamal Jemmott (Kibo Books, 2007) is the second book of poetry from writer, Alkamal Jemmott.  In it, he addresses a host of intimate and personal issues, posted cleverly in chapters relating to family, love, sex, and politics.

Employing his character style of using imagery, and emotion in his writing, this book is an absorbing collection of poetry with poems written over a 12-year span.  Yet, these writings have survived time and circumstance to remain strikingly relevant to today's life situation.  What we are left with this volume of poetry is a sobering look into what living honestly has been like for this poet and writer.
